Box - Wood - Burma - 19th century

Burma 19th century: vary lovely and rare precious chest in exotic wood. Facade with stained glass decoration, marquetry of multicolour repoussé copper Recesses with festive subjects in delicately hand-painted bone behind windows (two broken and one cracked) . Sides with bird of paradise decoration overlaid in the cartouches. Interior is a storage chest in red lacquer. Frame with bilateral two-headed points in wrought iron. Very rare piece purchased in Asia during the colonial period. Period: 19th century. Dimensions : H. 48 x 75 x 40
