Exceptional "The Illingworth Casting Reel - Patent 9338-1905 - No.661" marked fixed spool spinning reel, circa 1907, the invention of Alfred Illingworth of Bradford, England. This second version of his unique reel is marked "Oil Me Please" on the thin round alloy body. With dual grasp handle recessed into the body and exposed gearing system, this is a marvel to watch in action. The elongated ebony spool receives line via three thin wire arms, and functions perfectly. A must have for any spinning reel collector, complete with the equally rare fitted case, with intact inner label and only light exterior wear.
