The Boyar's Wedding Feast. Finely detailed Russian Lacquer box, decorated in Fedoskino and signed by the artist, dated 1977. Hinged rectangular box measures 13 1/4" x 9 1/2" x 4 3/4". Excellent condition with no damage or repairs. This piece was featured prominently in Russian Lacquers, Legends and Fairy Tales.This box is from an important collection, many pieces of which are in this sale, with some having been featured in the book Russian Lacquers, Legends and Fairy Tales by Lucy Maxym, published 1981.
