Condition Report:
Case: The case is in overall good condition. The top left lug with some visible nicks. The side of the lugs with visible surface scratches around the screw. A deep scratch at 11 o'clock on the bezel and some other minor nicks around the bezel. The buckle with some light surface scuffing throughout visible to the naked eye.

Dial: The dial is in overall very good condition.

Movement: The movement is running at time of cataloging, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.

Catalogue Note:
The Reference 3947 Rattrapante is powered by a Lemania 2320 base movement, one of the most well known column-wheel chronograph movements produced at the time. Breguet modified the movement to create a split-seconds chronograph complication. Interestingly, Patek Philippe is the only other brand to modify the 2320 movement in this way for their Reference 5004. Dressed in a white gold case, this lot retains all of the visual DNA of the atelier such as a fine coin edged case band and classic proportions to the guilloché dial. A modern, sapphire display back celebrates this complicated movement and displays the watch's unique serial number.
