Brewery Interest - A William IV antique sterling silver snuff box, Birmingham 1834 by Joseph Wilmore
Of rectangular form, the lid raised by a foliate scroll thumbpiece, basket-weave engine turned decoration throughout with reeded sides, the lid engraved with the crest of a crescent above the initials J.N. Gilt interior, fully marked on lid and base interior.
Length – 7 cm / 2.75 inches
Weight – 54 grams / 1.74 ozt
The crest is of the Nimmo family of Castle Eden, Co. Durham
A John Nimmo (c.1801 – 1867) began the brewery at the Castle Eden Inn, which became J.Nimmo & Son Ltd.
