1850-51, 12 c, black, on pale blue paper, Townsend Type D, with manuscript initials of postal clerk Wight EDW, cut square with close to good margin on three sides, used on 2 June 1852 entire letter from the Duff correspondence, sent from Berbice to Demerara, with crispy dated Demerara cds on June 3, the stamp tied by archive fold at left as both of two covers recorded from the same correspondence and exactly of the same state of preservation, you cannot find a better one, this is the earlier known usage on cover of the two recorded, all Cotton Reels are exceedingly scarce on cover and aristocrats of worldwide philately, ex Sir John Wilson (Keeper of the Royal Philatelic Collection) and John E. du Pont, cert. BPA/2014, SG £ 160,000, F-SUP! Estimate 200.000⠬.
