British School, mid/late 19th century- The Firework Display; watercolour and bodycolour heightened with white on paper stuck down on card, inscribed 'Primrose Hill on the night of peace rejoiceings [sic.] after Crimean War. The Firework Display' on the card beneath, 16 x 24 cm. Note: This work recalls the engraving in the Illustrated London News depicting the peace celebrations after the conclusion of the Crimean War in 1856, and may be after this print.
Framed, mounted, and glazed. Unexamined out of frame. General marks and scuffs to the frame. Very slight cockling to the sheet. Slight creasing to the edges and corners of the sheet. General marks and surface dirt. Otherwise in good condition overall.
