From a collection, this bronze Okimono depicting a Japanese falconer. Unfortunately the right hand has been lost. Highly detailed figure that made the Miyao company famous. This company from Yokohama specialized in patinated and gilded bronze objects such as statuettes, vases, incense burners, etc. These often depicted historical figures. After the ban on the wearing of swords by the Samurai in 1876, the makers of sword jewelry looked for alternatives to continue practicing their specialty. These Okimono were mainly made in the Meiji period. The height of the bronze statue is approximately 10 cm, the total height is approximately 13 cm. Weight approx. 210 grams.
