18K yellow gold, stamped. Jewellers mark S. Small brilliant-cut diamonds, altogether circa 0.20 carats. 1 step-cut tourmaline of circa 19 carats (calculated weight), intense bright green.

The success of Hans Sterns pieces relied on his extraordinary designs, for which he won numerous design awards. He created pieces for the modern woman, striving for high quality as well as affordability and pieces that could be worn during the day as well as in the evening. All of these aspects are reflected in this brooch, in which Stern was inspired by the soft curved forms of nature, setting them in stark contrast to the straight form of the green tourmaline.
