Bruce Alfred (b-1950, Alert Bay, Vancouver Island, Kwakwaka'wakw). A carved and painted cedar rattle with wrapped handle. The carving on both sides depicts Thunderbird. Unsigned. Measures 9" high, 4" wide, 2.5" deep.NOTE: Bruce Alfred predominantly carves masks, rattles and bentwood boxes and is regarded as one of the best bentwood box makers in Canada.PROVENANCE: Antiques at Pike Place, Seattle, WA, 2007.
