The following year, Time magazine declared the Burdick Group system one of the best of 1981 for industrial design. The magazine described it as one of the first flexible office furniture systems capable of handling computer terminals and other electronic office equipment. The worktop rests on high precision die-cast aluminium arms. The upper surface of the arm is enamelled, in order to reduce reflection while enhancing the visual contrast. The leg supports, made of steel and enamelled in black umber, have aluminium bases with 0. 6 cm adjustable feet.
