Bruno Diamant Signed Bronze Circa 1915

Bruno Diamant Bronze boy w/ Zeppelin, c1915. The sculptor is German, late 19th/early 20th century. This piece is based off the Zeppelin fountain in Friedrichshafen which was made by Diamant. The monument is a fountain honoring Graf Ferdinand von Zeppelin. Height: 6.5" From wiki: Bruno Diamant (born May 3, 1867 in Friedrichshafen, December 1, 1942 in Munich) was a German sculptor. The son of a train driver enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 1881 and began his studies with Syrius Eberle. In 1889 the bronze bust of Emperor Wilhelm I, made according to his designs, was erected in his hometown, followed in 1895 by a memorial stone for Gustav Schwab. The relief is embossed in copper. Both plants have been on the Friedrichshafen waterfront since 1912. Another work by Diamant in his hometown was the Zeppelin fountain, carved from Lyon limestone, which was inaugurated in 1909. As a fountain figure he showed a boy standing on a globe with an airship in his arms. The fountain was removed from its location in front of the town hall in 1956, but its upper part was integrated into a smaller fountain on Friedrichshafen Kirchplatz from 1961 to 2000. In 2000, the fountain was reconstructed in its original form and placed on the bank. In the church of St. Johannes Nepomuk in Bayerisch Eisenstein there is a high and a side altar by Bruno Diamant. The pulpit also comes from his hand.
