A nicely carved bamboo brushpot from the Qing dynasty 18th/19th century.
The bamboo is deeply carved with a continuous scene of lingzhi mushrooms growing on a rocky outcrop. n Chinese art, the lingzhi symbolizes great health and longevity.
Condition:
Overall good condition. The brushpot shows drying cracks, wear, a small chip at the mouth and insect damage in the bottom. The brushpot has a nice deep brown patina consistent with it's age.
