Bud Abbott Vintage Deputy Sheriff Badge W/COA - This vintage Deputy Sheriff badge from the Wood County, Wisconsin Police Department was part of a private collection of memorabilia owned by Bud Abbott, the "straight man" half of the iconic comedy duo Abbott and Costello. Performing together from 1935 until 1957, Abbott and Costello were the highest paid entertainers in the world during World War II. They frequently impersonated police officers in their performances, most notably in Abbott and Costello Meet the Keystone Kops and season 2, episode 16 of The Abbott and Costello show, titled Police Rookies. This badge was obtained from the estate of Bud Abbott. This framed lot measures approximately 13.25 in x 16.5 in, and includes a colorized photograph of Abbott and Costello from the film Abbott and Costello Meet the Keystone Cops. The lot includes the original certificate of authenticity issued by Scott Velvet, president of Hollywood Rock-N Country.
