Sublime Buddha, eroded, from the Konbaung period, 18th century, Burma Very decorative piece despite its condition. The Konbaung Dynasty, 1752-1885, named the dynasty of Alaungpaya, was the last Burmese monarchy. It was founded by Alaungpaya, a village chief who led a rebellion against the Monks, it succeeded to the Taungû Dynasty (1531-1752) . Wooden sculpture of Buddha calling on the Earth to witness, on top of his throne representing the Mount Meru. Very serene and smooth face. Wood, black and red lacquer, finished off with gold foil. 47 cm. Kanaka The Collection. A certificate of authenticity shall be included in the shipment. Lacks, breaks, cracks, erosion. . .
