DESCRIPTION
Statue of Jambupati Buddha (Crowned Buddha) Shan taking the earth as witness, Burma, late 19th century.
The statue measures 33 cms in height, 12. 5 cms in width and 7 cms in depth.
It is made of lacquered wood and gilded with gold leaf, polychromy undoubtedly more recent on the middle of the base.
There are difficult to read inscriptions on the base which must have indicated the name of the donor family and the occasion on which this statue was offered to the temple or monastery.
STATE
Average condition, shows signs of its age, missing at the crown (see photos) .
