The legend of “The Black Car” has evolved once again with the sale of a one-of-a-kind sculpture by Asprey and associated NFT to an avid collector for £378,000 in a curated live auction at Phillips in Berkeley Square, Mayfair. Inspired by the famous lost Type 57SC Atlantic and its modern reinterpretation, the Bugatti “La Voiture Noire”, studio Asprey has created a unique gold sculpture and original artwork fused with an NFT.
The auction of the inaugural centerpiece of the Bugatti Asprey collaboration attracted international interest at the 20th Century and Contemporary Art Evening Sale, hosted by Phillips auction house in London on June 30. For more than two centuries, Phillips has built a reputation as a key destination for collectors wishing to acquire the finest contemporary works of art.

The sculpture is handcrafted in Asprey's London workshop over six months by master goldsmiths and will be mounted on a bespoke base finished in the inimitable Bugatti and Asprey colours.

The auction of the “La Voiture Noire” sculpture follows extraordinary demand for the series of 261 smaller, exclusive sterling silver sculptures from the Bugatti Asprey Collection which sold out instantly.

This work is the result of a collaboration between the craftsmen of the famous Asprey Studio in London and the prestigious Bugatti brand. This piece represents the Bugatti La Voiture Noire model, made in sterling silver and limited to 261 pieces, including only one in the color offered. The sculpture took approximately four months to complete in Asprey's London workshop, demonstrating the company's commitment to technological innovation and traditional craftsmanship.

Specific dimensions, the tray measures 55 x 35 cm and is Asprey Violet in color, while the sculpture itself measures 21 cm and is Sterling Silver in color.
