Bureau cabinet
German, originally 2nd half of the 18th century. A two-part softwood piece veneered in walnut, richly decorated with marquetry panels, ornament and figural motifs in various fine woods and ivory. The cabinet has 7 drawers, 2 doors and a fall-front writing surface with 2 pull-out supports; the interior has 12 drawers and the upper section has 2 heavily restored doors and 44 interior drawers, and a moulded cornice. Ca. 196 x 109 x 62 cm. Some ageing and wear, with some losses, the door area altered during restoration, and some parts replaced. (MIN)
