Bureau de dame in Louis XV style with inlays and clock - France - late 19th century

Very rare bureau de dame with clock, in Louis XV style, made of mahogany with rosewood inlays and gilt bronze applications. In the central part there is a drawer surmounted by a leather-covered top. On the top there is a series of three drawers, an open central compartment and two secret compartments closed with doors, which are covered with embossed leather and depict a false set of books. The clock has a beautiful ceramic dial decorated with garlands of flowers and Arabic numerals. The mechanism works, the pendulum is missing. The item is in excellent condition, restored and polished with shellac to enhance the different types of precious wood. Dimensions: length 90 cm depth 55 cm top height 74 cm total height 112 cm.
