TLS

A brief letter from former President George H. W. Bush to one Arthur Valle of Woodbury, New Jersey, thanking him for his support of son George W. Bush's presidential campaign. 1p on personal letterhead, measuring 6.25" x 9", Houston, Texas, dated October 2, 2000. Signed at conclusion as "George Bush", the letter is accompanied by its original transmittal envelope, postmarked the same day. Minor wear, including single crease at middle, and slight surface indentations at left. Expected weathering to envelope. A near fine example overall.

In full:
"I appreciated your letter and have passed it along to George W.'s campaign office in Austin. Thanks so much for your support of our son. It means a lot of Barbara and me."

The 2000 presidential campaign of George W. Bush, then governor of Texas, was formally launched on June 14, 1999. As the eldest son of former President George H. W. Bush, Governor Bush began the campaign as the front runner among Republicans, in part due to his name recognition. Throughout the majority of the primary and general campaign seasons, Bush led Democratic candidate Al Gore in the polls and eventually won the election with an electoral college vote of 271 to 266.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
