Lynn Martin (b. 1939), a Republican representative from Illinois, served in the U.S. House from 1981-1991. The U.S. House of Office of History and Art records that Martin served as Bush's debate stand-in for Geraldine Ferraro (1935-2011) in preparation for the 1984 presidential election debates.
