[ translate ]

Unique and exclusive handmade glass box measuring 22cm by 22cm and 4cm depth with a hook for hanging. Both the front and the back are made of glass, so that the sometimes very beautiful back of the butterflies can also be viewed. Each box contains one or more perfectly mounted butterflies, the scientific name and distribution area of which are noted on a label below or above the butterfly. The butterflies are mainly self-bred specimens, starting from the eggs. The caterpillars can also be better described, photographed and published. The large butterfly at the top is Saturnia simla Westwood, 1847: from Central Vietnam. Grown in 2021 on Carpinus betulus (hornbeam) . The butterfly is very rarely offered. Anyone who wants to admire the beauty of butterflies by purchasing frames, boxes or bell jars with mounted butterflies, does not have to fear that he would thus contribute to the destruction of these beautiful insects. The opposite is true ! Practically all the eggs and butterflies come from nurseries and contribute to the conservation of the butterflies.
