Byobu - Paper, Wood - Flowers - Beautifull 6 panel screen with a painting of various spring flowers on an oxidized silver background - Japan - Early Meiji period - 19 th century

A six panel byobu-screen with a painting of a white and orange chrysanthemum flowers, daffodils and bell flowers. The whole painting against a nicely oxidized goldish silver-leaf background with recognizable squares, also showing its old age. The screen has a dark blue and gold brocade mounting and a black lacquered wooden frame decorated with copper hardware. The backside is covered with paper with a geometrical design and has some repairs. There are some minor restorations and traces of age and wear. but overal in good condition. Early Meiji Period - 19 th century. These kind of room-dividers are light in weight and can also be easily mounted flat on a wall and presented as one piece of art.
