Byzantine Reliquary Includes a base. Dimensions: 11,5 x 5,5 x 1 cm. It came from an old English collection, before 1980. Byzantine reliquary is also known as engolpion, whose meaning in Greek is "on the chest". This cross-shaped reliquary was ported by The Orthodox Bishops. This reliquary has two images, on one of its faces you can see a male figure, extending its arms in aptitude of crucifixion, on the back of the cross the image depicted is dominated by the figure of the Virgin Mary with the child.
