Byzantine Cross Pendant

11th-13th century AD. A copper-alloy pendant formed from a rectangular plaque with an openwork Corpus Christi at the centre, flanked by a winged angel on the right and another figure on the left; a dangle formed as a cross with lobed terminals below; all suspended on a chain. 9.28 grams, 20cm (8"). From a private Buckinghamshire, UK, collection; acquired in the 1990s. [No Reserve]
