On the hilltop in the foreground is three people observing the battle. To the right can be seen a man on horseback with a rifle. Across the bay is more hilltops and a clear blue sky. The painting is housed in a plain wooden frame. Frame and painting measures 24 inches by 30 inches. Fine, with crazing of the image and handling marks on the frame.
