(C) COLT BISLEY MODEL FLAT TOP TARGET SINGLE ACTION REVOLVER.

Manufactured in 1904 and one of only 97 Bisley flat top targets in .45 Colt. There were approximately 976 Bisley flat top targets manufactured. This gun is in the typical configuration with a 7 - 1/2" barrel and two piece hard rubber grips. When Colt introduced this model it was called the "Model of 1894". The name Bisley was not adopted until this model had proven itself at an International competition held in the eponymous English town. Single line address on top of the barrel, "COLT'S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.". Roll marked caliber designation on the left side of the barrel "(BISLEY MODEL) 45 COLT". Two line three date patent dates on the left side of the frame, "PAT. SEPT. 19, 1871 / JULY 2, 72 JAN. 19,75". There is a Rampant Colt logo in a circle next to the patent dates. Matching serial numbers observed on the frame, trigger guard and the backstrap. Assembly number 739 is in the inside of the loading gate. The blade front sight is on a solid base. The rear sight is dovetailed into the top strap. The front sight has been replaced. Stored inside of the grips is the original front and another rear sight. Two piece hard rubber grips are marked on the inside, the left grip has "J.F.R." and the right grip has "6-9-1905 / KUFERSCHMIDT / CO. / MEMPHIS / TENN.". CONDITION: This gun has turned to a pleasing brow and gray patina. It has a few handling marks and light pitting scattered across the gun. The grips show wear but do not have any chips or cracks.
