(C) COLT MODEL 1911 SEMI AUTOMATIC PISTOL (1917).

Circa 1917 per Clawson. Classic configuration with half moon blade front sight, U notch flat top rear sight. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information with rampant Colt at rear, right side with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY", and "H" on lip above firing pin retaining plate. Barrel has "S" and "P" proofs on left lug. Frame has "H", "T", and "G" proofs about the disconnector. Frame has US property mark on left side of dust cover, intertwined GHS above the magazine release for Gilbert H. Stewart, and serial number on right side of frame. Small parts comprise checkered spur hammer, thick tab safety with milled relief cut, checkered slide release with milled relief cut, long milled trigger, checkered magazine release, short 1911 grip safety, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop, truncated diamond walnut grips, and 2 tone magazine with lanyard loop. CONDITION: Overall very good with the vast majority of the factory bluing with some scattered handling marks throughout, some silvering; most offensive a strike on left side of stirrup cut. Normal thinning and silvering to muzzle consistent with holster wear and generally to sharp edges. Stocks are very good with some minor handling marks, but solid and strong. Mechanically fine, bore with strong rifling and some mild frosting towards muzzle.
