Manufactured in 1943 with features including serrated front sight, rounded U-notch rear sight, checkered slide lock, smooth long trigger, checkered magazine release, checkered thick tab safety, knurled spur hammer, and knurled rounded mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Mounted with checkered wood grips. Slide is marked with Colt manufacture marking on left side and "P" proofmark near rear sight. Slide is serial numbered to the gun underneath firing pin plate. Barrel and bushing are National Match replacements. Right side of frame is marked with crossed cannons, US Property near serial number, and "M1911A1 U.S. Army" toward forward edge of frame. "G" inspector mark on frame bridle near ejector. Marked with GHD cartouche and "P" proofmark on left side of frame. CONDITION: Excellent, with the vast majority of the arsenal reapplied parkerizing remaining with scattered light handling marks. Trigger shows evidence of a trigger shoe being installed. Grips are excellent with no major signs of distress. Mechanically fine. Bore is bright with minor freckling and sharp rifling.
