German over-under rifle "Bockbuechsflinte" marked "CHRISTOPHER FUNK, SUHL" in 16 guage and 7mm. Other markings on the barrels are "KRUPP LAUFSTAHL", "SUHL", serial number of "37711", "NITRO" proof, "7mm", "U" proof, "Crown over S" for Suhl, "57", "1137" (date of proof?), "St.m.G","C Funk 1835", etc. Serial number of "37711" is also present on the receiver (which also has a second "C Funk 1835" stamp), and "711" is present inside the forearm. No import marks. Blued matted barrel has a fixed rear sight and a blade front sight. It appears the double claw scope bases have been removed, as there are just two drilled and tapped holes present on the rib. Receiver and trigger guard have case hardening with light engraving. Rifle has dual triggers, safety, and breech unlocking lever. Walnut stock and forearm have grip checkering. Forearm is removed via a release lever. Bone butt plate and grip cap. Barrel and stock have sling swivels, and the correct German sling is attached. CONDITION: Rifle is overall very good to excellent, and retains 75-80% of its blued finish with brown patina, and retains 60-65% of its case hardening. Double claw scope bases are missing. Walnut stock and forearm have light dings and scratches throughout. Bone butt plate has two small pieces missing around the top screw and another tiny chip below.
