Description: Portrait of the Lutheran theologian Gottfried Less in bust. From 1791 Less was a palace preacher, consistorial councillor and general superintendent of the general diocese of Hoya-Diepholz in Hanover. In 1793 he became general superintendent of the general diocese of Calenberg. Shortly before his death, he took over the direction of the Court and Daughters' School in Hanover.
