C. Morgenstern Alpine Landscape

Carl Morgenstern, German, 1811-1893. A mid 19th century oil on board Italian landscape depicting small boats on an Alpine lake. Signed "C. Morgenstern" with partially legible date "196-" lower right. Previous restorations, some craquelure and slight surface grunge. Image 12 1/2 x 9 1/2" high, in a Gilded wood frame with some wear, 18 3/4 x 15 1/4" high overall. ESTIMATE $800-1,200 NOTE: Lot includes a restoration report and a 1984 appraisal from "Shepherd Gallery" in New York City.
