(C) PRE-WAR COLT SERVICE MODEL ACE FRAME WITH A LATER .22 LR COLT CONVERSION SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL

Manufactured 1942. Stevens adjustable rear sight, with Ace tall serrated ramp sight. Slide with "CONVERSION / UNIT // COLT // AUTOMATIC / CAL .22 L.R." and an uncircled Rampant Colt, right side with "COLT'S MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A"; no serial number observed on top of frame. Floating chamber design. Left side of trigger guard with "P" and Colt "VP" proofs. Inspector mark "W.B." in lozenge for Broberg. Checkered spurred hammer, slide release, safety, and short milled trigger. Long 1911A1 grip safety, arched checkered mainspring housing. Fully blued magazine with straight down loading assist. Housed in a black leatherette case French fitted for the pistol and a magazine (only 1 magazine is present). CONDITION: Very good, retaining the vast majority of the original Colt blue finish with sharp legends. Scattered handling marks from use throughout. Some light silvering on high edges toward muzzle and dust cover consistent with holster use. Grip straps are very good with minor handling marks. Mechanically fine, bore with some oxidation and frosting at grooves. Box is fine as contemporary.
