Manufactured 1918 per serial number. Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight. Left side with three-line, two-block patent and Remington information, with intercepting "REMINGTON UMC" encircled. Barrel stamped with "P" ahead of lug. Framed with US Property mark on left side of dust cover, "E" on left web of trigger guard, "E.E.C." proof and "(Eagle head) / E28" near magazine release. Right side of frame with "26" on trigger guard web, and "NO11981" behind slide release hole. "E" on bottom of mainspring housing. Small parts comprise checkered spurred hammer, thick tab safety, checkered slide release with milled relief cut, long smooth trigger (with evidence that a shoe was installed at some point), checkered magazine release, short grip safety, and smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Truncated diamond checkered walnut grips. Two-tone magazine with "A" on baseplate lip for American Pin Company. CONDITION: Very good, retaining the majority of the factory bluing, with distension visible about some proofs from application of stamp. Some normal handling marks and silvering to high edges, including reciprocating areas, with some patches of silver on left side of slide over manufacturing information. Some very fine pitting observed on dust cover. Straps are good with a few pockmarks at the edges, mixing with dove grey and light chocolate mossing. Mainspring housing has had some additional finish added. Mechanically fine, bore is very good with strong rifling and some very minor frosting.
