C. del Barrio - Colombina
Colombina is an original acrylic-on-canvas work by the Spanish artist C. Del Barrio, created in 2026.
Inspired by the figure of Colombina, a female character from the Commedia dell’Arte, this work offers a contemporary, personal reinterpretation of one of its most recognizable archetypes.

The composition combines intense blues, reds, ochres, blacks, and cream tones, balanced by background areas that allow the color to breathe. The imperfect shapes and gestural lines contribute to the work that spontaneous and contemporary character inherent to C. Del Barrio’s language.

About the artist
C. Del Barrio is a Spanish multidisciplinary artist whose work sits between contemporary cubism and figurative abstraction. She develops her painterly career in parallel with her international career as an operatic singer.
Her artistic language explores identity, emotion, and transformation through color, imperfect geometry, line, and symbolism. Her figures, often fragmented, simplified, or hybrid, move away from literal representation to create images open to multiple interpretations.
Her work combines structure and spontaneity, recognizable forms and abstraction, with special attention to gesture, balance, and expressiveness. Faces and figures do not seek idealized perfection but to convey presence, character, and emotion.
She currently works from Spain creating original canvas works for private collections and contemporary spaces.
