CAPELLA, Galeazzo (1487-1537) - Commentari delle cose fatte. Venice: Giovanni Giolitto, 1539. First edition in Italian following the first Latin edition of 1531. The work illustrates the wars that took place in Italy between 1521 and 1530, focusing in particular on the events of Francesco Sforza (1492-1535). A map of the Duchy of Milan was later inserted in this copy. 4to (204 x 151mm). Printer's device on title and at the end, woodcut initials (occasional spotting and light staining, marginal restoration at *4). 18th-century vellum with title on spine label (modern endpapers, light stains), preserved in an elegant modern case.
