Decorated by Caroline Steinle with hand-painted foliate designs on a subdued ochre and umber ground. Signature branding, artist's signature and numerical marking (733) impressed to the underside. Rookwood's Standard Glaze ware was responsible for the company's meteoric rise to fame in the late 1880s and quickly became the firm's most recognizable ware.
