Circa 1875 Riband and Scrollwork with gold, red and black lettering that reads "The First White Lead Manufactory", a product used in marine painting. From the Maryland White Lead Company which occupied their Baltimore site from 1867 to 1896, and was the city's first and most substantial manufacturer of lead paints, using this slogan. Their building still stands. Provenance: Consigned by the heirs of the founders of the company. 16" h x 64" w.
