Model SS-1 (Compact Off-Duty Police) 4-barrel derringer features a solid stainless steel construction and was manufactured in Torrance, California, during its limited production run between 1983 and 1990. Designed by Robert Hillberg as a high-powered backup firearm for law enforcement, this distinctive multi-barrel pistol operates via a unique double-action-only mechanism. It utilizes an internal ratcheting striker that sequentially rotates to strike individual firing pins for each barrel with every trigger pull. Chambered in heavy-hitting .357 Magnum, the pistol also safely accommodates and shoots .38 Special ammunition. Bearing Serial Number 012711, this particular unit falls into the middle-to-late production range for COP Inc. It features a break-open barrel cluster with an automatic extractor, factory checkered composition grip panels, and integrated fixed sights.
