A pair of maroon velvet cushion covers. [Far East: 1942-45] A pair of maroon velvet cushion covers, embroidered in yellow thread, C.B.I., and China, Burma, India, with a central shield with the CBI emblem of the sun and star. Edged in cord.
WITH: three pieces of Trench art from the Korean war comprising:
1) A cast Brass ashtray the basin stamped "1 Marine Corps Birthday 1775- 1953. Korea November 10th".
2) Two brass belt buckles , one engraved with a rifle and lettered "Korea Happy New Year 1953", the second cast with an image of fling bird and lettered Pyungyang. The threes pieces boxed.

An interesting selection of trench art from Pacific Wars. The Korean War trench art is particularly rare as the ebb and flow of the conflict meant that there was not a lot of resting time. The Pyongyang belt buckle refers to the capture of the Capital city of Korea in October 17-19th, 1950. UN forces occupied it until early December, 1950, when Chinese forces joined the North Korean fight, and the UN forces retreated.
