Tomlinson 54 Mass Vols". Image presents backmark of Turner's, Chestnut St. Philadelphia. Carte image presents good tones and exhibits some extremely light staining. Ezekiel Gaulbert Tomlinson was a Quaker from Philadelphia. He enlisted as a Seaman in the Port of Philadelphia in 1859. Enlisted on July 9, 1861 as First Sergeant and then Sergeant Major of the 29th Penn Infantry. He transferred/enlisted as a Second Lieutenant of the 54th Massachusetts Infantry on 11 August 1863. Mustered 15 September 1863. He was promoted to First Lieutenant on 6 January 1864. He was wounded in action on 20 February 1864 at the Battle of Olustee. Resigned 8 May 1864 for disability.
