The ORNO Workers’ and Artistic Handicrafts Cooperative—founded in 1947 by Romuald Rochacki—restored functional beauty to war-torn Warsaw and beyond. One of the most famous admirers of ORNO’s aesthetic was Joanna Chmielewska, whose ORNO coral ring became a key plot element in her crime novel *Boczne Drogi*.
