Text decorated with small ornaments and on p. 3 with a large red initial and red friezes. Music scores in black. Eragny's mark on last leaf. "Aucassin et Nicolette" is an anonymous unique example of "chantefable", a combination of prose and verse, written in the 12th or 13th century, and imitating contemporary works. Edition limited to 241 unnumbered copies (incl. 6 on vellum), of which 200 paper and 3 vellum copies were for sale, one of the 200 on Arches hand-made paper. - Ref.
