Impressive binding decorated in gold, and with a gold presentation inscription to a bridegroom on the occasion of his wedding.

Stefanski Sifrei Yesod 304

Rabbi Tzvi Ashkenazi (1658-1718), son of Rabbi Yaakov and grandson of Rabbi Efrayim Hacohen – Shaar Efrayim, and son-in-law of Rabbi Meshulam Zalman Mirels of Altona. Studied under his father and grandfather and headed a Yeshiva in Altona and was appointed Rabbi of the united communities of Altona, Hamburg and Wandsbek (AHU). Later, Rabbi of Amsterdam and Lvov and visited London. Leading Ashkenazi rabbinical authority, and head of a large rabbinical dynasty. Author of Chacham Tzvi – classic halachic work.
