Cleaned, fine craquelure, stretcher impression, scuff upper left to painting and frame. John Holmes (1773-1843) was a US Congressman and Senator from Maine who was an instrumental advocate in Statehood for Maine in 1820. Provenance: From a Bangor ME Estate.
