An 1876 oil on mahaogany panel by Charles Eurphrasie Kuwasseg. Depicting an Alpine river scene. Artist's signature to the lower right ("C. Kuwasseg.Fils"). Frame measures H 20" x L 25". Wood, gesso and gold leaf frame, 19th century.
Condition: Retains its original varnish. No evidence of repairs, damage or overpaint. When viewed under blacklight, the varnish appears original and the painting does not show evidence of repair or overpaint. Panel is mounted on period wood stretcher.
