Condition: Catalog dimensions, title and date previously incorrect. Mild soiling. Further examination under UV reveals no in paint and or mildew damage. Surface grime noted beginning at lower left corner, traveling inward towards center of piece. Vertical irregularity to lower right quadrant near signature is also noted.

Provenance: From the estate of the artist, to Charles H. Carpenter, Jr., author of the "Decorative Arts and Crafts of Nantucket" and by descent in the Carpenter family.
