Probably a drawing for an engraving for a painting - one of a pair of works - by Johann Georg Platzer (1741-1761). Both paintings have nearly the same dimensions as the present drawing and are executed in oil on copper. They were in the Schloss Fuschel Collection in Austria and were auctioned as a rediscovery in 2000 at Sotheby's in London. The drawing after the counterpart was offered on the English art market in 2010.
