CHESTER CO., PENNSYLVANIA DECORATED STONEWARE PITCHER, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, ovoid form with incised shoulder and neck ring, strap handle, and beaded foot. Brushed cobalt tulip and leaf decoration below spout, two horizontal leaves around neck, additional cobalt at handle terminals. Attributed to R.J. Grier, Chester County, PA. Circa 1865.
Condition: Undamaged except having flake to rim. Firing imperfections, including glaze skip to decoration and fired over blemish to base, as made.
Size: 9" H, 5" D rim.
