CHIDUSHEI GALANTI – COPY BELONGING TO RABBI TZVI HIRSH SHAPIRA (1851-1914) – REBBE OF MUNKACZ AND AUTHOR OF DARKEI TESHUVA .

Chidushei Galanti, Wlhermsdorf 5476 (1716), bearing several stamps of Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh Shapira – the Rebbe of Munkacz.

A number of additional stamps of the Chabura Kinyan Sefarim of Beis Hamedrash Reb Yosef Zorach Segal in Munkacz, a Beth Hamedrash renowned for its large rabbinic library. There are also many pencil inscriptions on the fly leaves, presumably written by students of the Munkacz Yeshiva.

Rabbi Tzvi Hirsh Shapira - Rebbe of Munkacz, son of Rabbi Shlomo of Munkacz and great grandsonof the author of Bnei Yissaschar. Rabbi of Strizhov and Munkacz (1893); second Rebbe of the Munkacz chassidic dynasty. Disciple of the Rebbes of Sanz and Siniawa. Author of Darkei Teshuva on Yoreh Deah, Tiferes Banim, and Be’er Lachai Ro’i on Tikunei Zohar. One of the most prominent chassidic and rabbinical leaders in Hungary.
